Oi gente, hoje eu estou aqui novamente para devolver uma “zoação”. Sim... Aquela musica “Peacock” foi para mim, obrigada Mr. Sedução. E por agradecimento hj o “I Will Survive” é pra vc..   :-*

Gloria Fowles , mais conhecida pelo seu nome artístico, Gloria Gaynor, é uma cantora americana, mais conhecida por seus grandes sucessos da Era Disco, que a tornaram a rainha do gênero: "Never can Say Goodbye" de 1974, "Let Me Know (I Have A Right)" de 1978, "I Am What I Am" de 1984 e, principalmente, "I Will Survive" de 1978.

Apesar do que muitos pensam a canção não tem nada a ver com o homossexualismo, a música visa o ponto de vista de uma mulher recém abandonada, dizendo ao ex-companheiro que não precisa mais dele e já pode se virar sozinha e também queria falar sobre a descriminação que as mulheres negras americanas sofriam.

Ela é um símbolo gay, porque já foi trilha sonora do filme "Priscilla a Rainha do Deserto". Uma sátira brasileira em 2005 da banda Velhas Virgens trocou seu nome para "Vai,Wilson vai!", porque na letra, Wilson namorava com o Eu-lírico.

Curiosidades:

• A música fez muito sucesso e em 1980 ganhou o primeiro e único Grammy de Melhor Gravação para Disco Music. "I Will Survive" já foi regravada diversas vezes por diversos artistas. Uma de suas regravações mais populares é a feita pelo grupo Cake, nos anos 90. 
• Essa é a canção preferida de Julious, pai de Chris do seriado Todo mundo odeia o Chris. Monique Coleman, também gosta desta canção. 
• Essa canção também foi usada no novo clipe do grupo feminino americano The Pussycat Dolls chamado Hush Hush, a canção conta da separação de um casal e no final eles usam a canção I will Survive para dizer que vão sobreviver após a separação.
