[Música da Semana] Sing - My Chemical Romance

Fala galera! Hoje eu inicío uma nova coluna aqui no "Entretenimento.com". Seu nome será "Música da Semana" e, como o própio nome sugere, será publicada no final de cada semana, sempre falando de sobre alguma música de nossos artistas favoritos. A diferença principal entre essa e as outras coluna de nosso blog é que, a cada semana, ela será escrita por uma pessoa diferente de nossa pequena equipe. Assim, você poderá saber um pouco sobre os gostos musicais de cada um de nós. Detalhe: o autor da última coluna é quem ira dizer quem escreverá a próxima.

Bem, como a idéia foi minha, achei melhor eu escrever a primeira, falando sobre a música "Sing", do "My Chemical Romance". Espero que gostem.

"My Chemical Romance" é uma banda de rock alternativo norte-americana de New Jersey, formada em 2001. A banda consiste no vocalista Gerard Way, os guitarristas Ray Toro e Frank Iero, o baixista Mikey Way e têm incorporado ao seu som diversos elementos de rock gótico, punk, emo, glam metal e rock progressivo.

Devo confessar que nunca fui fã de "My Chemical Romance". Seu estilo de música não me agrada muito (nada contra quem gosta) e ela estava longe de ser uma das minhas bandas favoritas. Mas a minha opinião mudou drasticamente, faz poucas semanas. E issso aconteceu quando eu ouvi uma das mais famosas canções do grupo.

"Sing" é quarta faixa do seu segundo single de seu quarto álbum de estúdio, "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys". A obra de arte única foi oficialmente publicada no site da banda em outubro de 2010, sendo um verdadeiro sucesso.

Adimito que comecei a escutá-la com um certo preconceito, pois, como eu já disse, eu não sou fã da banda, nem de seu estilo. Mas um a coisa supreendente aconteceu: a música mal chegará a sua metade, e eu já estava completamente fascinado por ela, sendo que, desde então, não consigo tirá-la da minha cabeça e vivo cantarolando-a por aí.

Com um rítimo perfeito e enérgico, uma letra bem composta e uma excelente mensagem por trás de seus versos, "Sing" é um exemplar perfeito de que ainda existem coisas boas entre as milhares de porcarias que o rock atual tem produzido.

Esta canção foi executada no seriado "Glee", no episódio "Comeback", da segunda temporada, lançado como single no iTunes em fevereiro de 2011. Foi também executada em "The Glee Project". Essa última alcançou um sucesso maior do que a versão do My Chemical Romance na Billboard Hot 100, estreando e alcançando a posição 49.

Em 10 de março de 2011, My Chemical Romance publicou um "Directors Cut" do videoclipe "Sing". Inclui efeitos sonoros, entre outras adições.

Em 13 de abril de 2011, My Chemical Romance lançou uma versão re-imaginada de SING, intitulado "# SINGItforJapan", em apoio das pessoas afetadas pelo terremoto de 2011 em Tōhoku.
